Description
RNs - School
Mental Health
& Addictions
Each year, over 600,000 people count on the Community
Care Access Centres (CCACs) of Ontario as their single
point of access for community health services. A new
initiative to the CCACs, the Mental Health & Addiction
Nurses in District School Boards Program is an
important component of Ontario's plan to improve
services and support for children and youth with mental
health and addictions needs. This has created unique
and exciting full-time opportunities for outcome-oriented
Registered Nurses with direct clinical experience in
providing mental health and/or addictions services for
children and youth.
Assigned to a district school board within the Central CCAC catchment area,
you will advise educators, develop individual care plans in collaboration with
other professionals, and assist school boards in building capacity to recognize,
and respond to, student mental health and addiction issues in an effective,
timely manner. We are looking for RNs with current CNO registration, knowledge
of the mental health and addictions service system for children and youth,
advanced assessment and diagnostic reasoning skills, and a solid grasp of
health care legislation. A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle are
needed, as the job involves travel. Proficiency in French may be required in
specific areas.

Most Community Care Access Centres of Ontario are governed by the requirements of the French
Language Services Act. We provide services in French and encourage applications from French-
speaking candidates
