As we prepare to open our new facility in the spring of 2013, we need to add to our Nursing staff
complement across Niagara Health - and we want to hear from RNs who are excited about the possibility of joining an organization that's undergoing tremendous growth and renewal.
If you are a Registered Nurse with current CNO registration and BCLS certification, explore the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team in a changing, evolving environment while promoting nursing excellence, quality patient-centred care and high professional standards.
Emergency Nursing
Several Emergency nursing positions are available immediately at our Niagara Falls and Welland sites. We also invite applications from ER Nurses who are interested in working at our S. Catharines site. The RNs we seek are skilled in physical assessment and proficient in IV therapy initiation, phlebotomy, cardiac monitoring and interpretation, and care of ventilated patients, hold Critical Care certification, and have 2 years of related clinical Emergency experience. While Emergency-related certification or training is preferred, we will consider qualified RNs who are willing to become certified.
Medical & Surgical Nursing
Both recent graduates and seasoned nurses are welcome to apply for these positions at our Niagara Falls, St. Catharines and Welland Hospital sites. While certification or training related to Medical and Surgical nursing is preferred, we will consider all qualified RNs. Along with having 2 years of related clinical experience in the past 6 years in a medical environment, you are skilled in physical assessment (Physical Assessment Course preferred), and proficient in IV therapy initiation. Knowedge of CVADs, PCA CADD pumps, VAC therapy and enteral feeds is preferred.
Mental Health Nursing
We are looking for RNs to fill current and upcoming positions in the following areas within our growing Regional Mental Health Inpatient Program: Acute Care, Psychiatric ICU, Specialized Care (Tertiary), and Psychiatric Emergency Services. You have 2+ years of related experience within the past 6 years, current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification, and training in the appropriate use of restraints and current best practices in least-restraint policy. A specialty certificate in Mental Health Nursing (CNA) is preferred. While your home site will be St. Catharines, eventually in the new Health-Care Complex, you must be willing to work at two or more sites.
